At a young age I decided I wanted to be a make-up artist, I would spend a lot of time rummaging through my mum’s make-up bag and then hours painting my own face or using plastercine and playdough to create my own special effects wounds.

When I turned an age that I could wear make-up every day I tried every different coloured eye shadow under the sun accompanied by the matching nail varnish and although looking back this did not always look good, it did give me the starting blocks of becoming a make-up artist. I learnt early on which colours compliment each other and also how to blend colours together to give smooth, soft changes in tone that can also help with the appearance of a clearer complexion and a professional look.

I found a college called Retford International that specialised in training people to become make-up artists and after being one of 30 people to be accepted I spent two hard working years learning every thing I could about wedding make-up, television and film make-up, fashion make-up, theatrical make-up, special effects and wig making. I have since worked with many different aspects of make-up and have enjoyed using my skills and creativity in each job that I have done. It is a profession in which you never stop learning and I feel I will always enjoy and give my best to everybody I work with.
